The invitation had surprised her, she'd run across it by chance when Grip was in town. She was thrilled for Arthur, and hoped this was the love match her own marriage was. She could only vaguely remember Lynna, having never formally met the woman. She'd missed so much, last she knew he was courting Ada...it had been so long ago. Lynna had to be a good woman though, for Arthur to marry her, and she was Rohannon's sister. If she was half as honorable as her brother, Kyley was prepared to instantly like her.

Brought out of her musings as the carriage slowed, Kyley leaned to make sure the children didn't shift, then smiled as Edric opened the door. You'll be alright with the children? At Edric's nod, she alighted, smoothing her gown and sighing. Her face showed signs of strain, the dress was hopelessly wrinkled from the long trip, and her hair was slipping out of the plaits, but she was here.

Edric stood tall as she passed, giving her a steadying look when he saw the signs of tears. He knew how difficult this must be for her, to be here without Grip, and against his wishes at that. He said not a word, just watched her walk in before climbing into the carriage to carefully lift the children up. He slipped in the back way, insisting to the maid who looked shocked to see him that they were there by invitation, and needed to be shown a room immediately. She looked ready to protest, until her eyes alighted on the children sleeping so peacefully, and quickly did as he bade.

Kyley was oblivious to this as she walked into the Grand Hall. It was beautifully appointed, the care taken in the decorations showing the importance of the occasion. Scanning the room, she sees Arthur standing by what must be his bride, his face practically glowing with pride as he gazed at her. She briefly wished she'd arrived when it ended, it would be difficult to fend off questions of Grip.

Weaving through the tables, she made her way over and curtsied gracefully. I'm sorry I couldn't make it to your wedding. Congratulations to you both, I am thrilled to see you so happy. Her face was flushed, she was embarrassed to be seeing him after so long, and hoped he really wanted her here, and hadn't sent it out of a sense of obligation.

Grizelda and Ken had found their seats and they were about to join them when a slightly flushed Lady approached, she looked a little familiar to Lynna who smiled and acknowleged what was said Thank you she said still beaming We are very happy and it was a lovely ceremony she looked to Arthur hoping he would see that she needed an introduction.

Just as Arthur was about to sit, he saw someone come up to him. It can't be.. can it? He thought to himself as she spoke. Cousin? he said aloud for everyone near him to hear. Kyley? It can't be..

He stretched his arms out, and lifted her up from her curtsy. She was always very proper. As he lifted her up, he pulled her into a bear hug. He had missed her greatly. As he hugged her, he scanned the room to see if Grip was nearby. He was perplexed at her coming alone.. she never went anywhere without Grip as far as he knew.

Lynna, my love.. this is Kyley, my cousin. I think you've met before briefly? I'm not sure. Kyley.. this is my wife, Lynna.

The food was starting to be served. Servants were carrying the first course of fresh fruits from Coventry's local market (apples, apricots, pears) and cheeses imported from Sussex. Ale flavored bread and spicy mulled wine was being served as well.

Arthur looked about, and motioned for his Aunt to come forward. He wanted to make sure Brianna had seen her.

Arthur's reaction was one of stunned disbelief. He wasn't expecting her to come, she felt even more out of place now. Maybe she should have stayed home like Grip had said. Maybe it had been too long and the invitation was just a formality like she feared. Before she could rise and make her escape, she was caught up in a hug. Eyes widening in surprise, her face turning bright red, she tentatively hugged him back.

I...umm...got your invitation. I'm sorry...I didnt' see it in time to make it to your wedding...but I was hoping you wouldn't mind me coming here. Its been a long time, you're looking well. The color in her face deepened as he put her down and scanned the room. He isn't here... she whispered, trying to hide the disappointment in her face.

Turning towards Lynna to hide her awkwardness, she smiled softly. Tis wonderful to meet you Lynna. I think we've seen each other in passing...but it has been quite a while. Looking up at Arthur, she continued; Too long truth be told. Glancing around the room, she saw Brianna with a man she didn't recognize, but no sign of Rohannon, Bridget or Rexx. Surprised, she added; Am I very late then?

Gawain smiles, a little surprised. "Thank you, Arthur. I would be glad to meet with you both tomorrow."

He then sees a lady approach Arthur, and from hearing Arthur's greeting it is one of his cousins.

He looks around the room and sees that the servants are now starting to serve the first course, so while waiting to served, he takes another sip of his ale and relaxes in his chair.

Liza takes a roll from a basket set on the table and picks a small piece off, eating it as she looks around, hoping the food would soon be served. They had set off early to be on time for the wedding and hadn't had time to eat, and she was suddenly ravenous. She had packed a basket to take with them in the carriage but somehow they had never gotten around to it. As a waiter sets a bowl of fresh fruit on the table, she selects one and takes a delicate bite, wanting to devour it but knowing that wouldn't be ladylike. She sighs to herself, wishing not for the first time that she wasn't a lady.

As Liza munches away, she looks about and watches curiously as Arthur enthusiastically greets a woman. She looks vaguely familiar, but Liza can't quite place her. Deciding to ask Arthur about her later, she turns to Wolf. Love, as soon as dinner is over, let's go congratulate the happy couple. We haven't had a chance yet, and I want to before things get busy again.

How have you been? I haven't seen you since training in the Reserves. I heard you were promoted, congratulations! Liza smiles around a mouthful of roll, then blushes as she looks at the crumbs she's left on the table. She puts the roll down and takes a sip of wine.

Deciding to divert for a minute while they got reaquainted Lana detoured round the tables and almost walked right into a a serving waiter!!

Oh my! I am so sorry... Trailing off she realises that food is being served.

Quickly scouting around for a spare place seat, Lana looks frantically for somewhere to sit with at least another person she recognises....looking like a deer caught in headlights she quickly wanders through the tables blindly.

I know Wolf and I would love to learn it. I'm sure Lizzy and Moose can be persuaded to join in, as well, she adds with a wink towards the couple.

She starts thinking and there is this youthful excitment in her eyes as she does.

OOC: I know the Galliard is 1500's (I believe)...but I wanted to throw it in there as it's pretty well known. The Saltarello is totally period.

There was much to try, and Arthur couldn't make so many decisions! He had already decided on the quail because he was familiar with the meat and had decided to let his wife choose his side sallat. While Lynna was preoccupied choosing their dishes, he accompanied Kyley to his family's table and helped her with her seat. He was extremely happy that she had come to his wedding. It had been a long time since he'd seen her. A lot had happened, and he wasn't sure if she was aware. He didn't want to spoil his wedding so thoughts of what happened to his family were pushed to the back of his mind.

She stood awkward, glancing around the room, conscious of how few she knew. It had been so long since she was in any social situations, she'd quite forgotten how to act. Looking back at Arthur, she giggled as he pouted. I'm sure I'll be fine with Brianna...we haven't spoken in ages. It will give us a chance to chat.

The flush was back as he mentioned not expecting her. So much had kept them apart, had he thought she stopped caring? With a deep sigh, she placed her hand gently on his arm. We can catch up when you have time. I thought I would go stay at the keep for a few days before traveling home...

Curtsying once more before Arthur lead her towards Bri's table, she looked forward to getting to know Lynna better. What she remembered of the lady boded well for their marriage. The children are here actually...they were sleeping when we arrived, and I did not think your reception was the place to bring them. Edric...he was going to see about finding a room here, at least for the night. They were tired. I do hope you don't mind.

She was nervous again, too much left unspoken as she thought of her husband. She hoped he was calmer before she got home, the crushed look on his face as she and the kids packed swam through her mind. Lowering her eyes, she blinked back the tears trying to gather, then shakily sat after Arthur pulled out her chair. What she ate didn't matter, she looked at the plate in front of her, then back to Arthur and offered a wistful smile. It is good to be with family...even if not all are here. Thank you for inviting us.

He nudged his Auntie into alerting her of Kyley's presence. Cousin, this is Evan and Tasite. Auntie Bri has much to discuss with you.... He looked at her with a warm smile, and pushed some food closer to her. And you better eat. I am gonna be watching you! He laughed and headed back to his wife, hoping she had picked the salad he had wanted.

Oswald do you think we could have another setting put here near Lady Grizelda to allow Lady Gretl to join us please.

Of course, M'Lady he nodded I'll see to to it right away with the choice of meals bought forward again.

Perfect she smiled looking back to Gretl to see if she will play for them, What do you say about a tune Gretl?

As the servants bought another chair and setting the waiters bought the meals out again for Gretl to choose from...
