Gateshead Manor
--Duckworth wrote:Gateshead Manor had been in the Tudor family for many years, just waiting for the day when the some or all of the family would return. After Tas and Krez's wedding, a letter had been sent to the Gateshead keeper, Duckworth, informing him that Lord and Lady McKenzie along with their son would be arriving in Penrith in several days and to have Gateshead made ready for them. Duckworth realized there wasn’t enough staff here to help with the cleaning and to service the family's needs.
The house had been closed for many years but it was still a grand place to live. Duckworth knew it was going to take many days to get it the estate into shape but with several extra hands and a full staff the cleaning could be done in a few days. Duckworth knew just what to do, writing several letters then had them deliver by a page. Duckworth walked the grounds proud to know the family was finally returning to this beautiful home.
Gateshead is a charming and modest estate, just right for a growing family.
The estate had a beautiful garden; with a woman’s touch it could be grand.
