[RP] Quaint Tavern

The winding streets seemed vaguely familiar....yet flashing memories of recent events kept going through her mind, stopping all fond memories of Coventry and its people.

Slowly hobbling up to the quaint tavern she so loved, relying heavily on the makeshift crutch under her left arm, Ellyria finally got to the door and stood very still contemplating how and who she was going to explain all this to.
Looking down at herself, she was nothing more than rags and bone, her skin sallow, all the muscle gone from weeks of inability to move, face and body still bruised and scars in new places that were much harder to hide.

Elly knew she was a mess and she had been unable to get any help, it was only now that she was able to walk that she could find help....but she was ashamed to go to her brother...too scared to go in fact for fear of what he would say and think of her.
So here she was...at the first place that made her welcome, she just hoped it would be as hospitable second time round.

Agonisingly she managed to push the heavy door open and hobbled inside, seeing the warm fire and inviting chairs, Ellyria slowly lowered herself down to the one closest to the fire and heaved a sigh of relief and finally being sat down somewhere warm and comfortable.

Arthur entered the tavern, a few merchants following him in with barrels of ale. Just place it in the stockroom, he pointed out. Ale had finally run out in his tavern and it was time to restock. It seemed that he was going through more ale lately than usual. He wondered why that was. As he watched the barrels stocked in the backroom, he looked around to see who was in the tavern. Seeing Elly, he walked over to her. He sat down next to her. How's life? It's been a while since you've been around the town. How was Guard duty in the capitol?

Ellyria thought she was hallucinating....it couldn't possibly be her brother??

Blinking, rubbing her eyes with her good arm and looking again...there he was...still there.

A....Artie??

She couldn't manage to say anything else...the crackling and croaking of her voice reminded her of how long it had been since she'd really talked.
Looking up at him he looked so vibrant and healthy...a little irritated perhaps.

Trying to keep the tears back, Elly couldn't move...couldn't breathe at the thought of what her brother would say when he found out....

His attention was only partially on the table, he didn't quite trust one of the merchants. The look in the man's eyes was shifty, he wouldn't allow the idiot to dip into his till. The merchants left as Elly spoke, the tone of her voice catching his attention at once. Turning to face her fully, Arthur's eyes climbed. She looked malnourished, the dress she was wearing more suitable to dust rags than to a Tudor. It was then he noticed the makeshift crutch. They all combined to show Arthur that his sister had not been where he thought...not and look like that. He would have heard of trouble in the capital, and no news had come. Elly? Where have you been? What happened? Are you alright? We must get you back to the castle, I will have a physician come at once.
