Goodbye to Shrewsbury
Goodbye to Shrewsbury
As the above was never actually finished... suffice it to say that Mac and Aasha became friends. About a month later it is time for Mac to leave.....
She was packed and ready to go. Almost that is. Pulling tight the cinch to Crusher's saddle and securing the bundles on his back she reached up to pat his shoulder, fingers running softly down his side. She had one more stop to make. The large house at the end of town that was now Aasha's. She knew not if the lass was home but meant to leave her the letter she'd written. A reminder of their kindled friendship.
.....
Swinging into the saddle Mac smiled softly, nodding at the housekeeper, Ellie and glancing around the town one last time. Aasha hadn't been home but she felt confident the letter would find her hands. The town was quaint and happy. She would miss it but knew this wasn't the last time she'd see the town. It was time to return home. Back to Beeston. What would be there to
11/7/08 11:14 PMgreet her? Would anyone be there? So many had left. Cecily, she knew, should be home, happily settled at Willow Bend with Bloodstone. She'd found a wonderful man in him. A great sigh slipped by her lips and Mac wondered if that type of love would ever find her. She'd thought she had it, but thinking didn't always make things so.
Time to stop running Mac. Running from feelings your afraid to face. Go home, pick up on life, search yourself and if he really loves you, he'll find you and tell you so. "You always did know what to do Grand-da" She murmured turning Crusher toward home.
