[RP] Arthur's Birthday Bash

As she walked into the tavern in the Glen, she saw the notice she had sent earlier posted outside, she approached the young woman behind the bar. Good afternoon she said with a smile, Thank you for allowing me to use the Tavern for my fiancé Lord Arthurs birthday. Your welcome M'lady, she beamed, The owner has organised some entertainment, music, food and of course a cake M'lady, for those that want to stay for a while as you requested Wonderful, said Lynna, I hadn't been able to catch Arthur today and hope he comes for his own Birthday she said laughing. It's just been one of those times when we are like ships in the night.

She could have stayed a little longer but had another errand to run so she bid the young lady farewell. I'll have to run along for a while but don't be surprised if a few show up before I get back. She passes over the purse she bought in payment and said while thinking, I hope I have ordered enough food and ale for those that might like to stay, hmm nevermind she grinned I'll be back so we can sort that out later. Thank you again and bye for now she said not able to stop smiling then took her leave... Be well M'lady Good day for now

Not being able to attend personally, Gabby sent her squire, Leith to deliver a letter and package.
Upon arriving, Leith finds the guest of honour and with a flourishing bow, says,
"Please accept the regrets of my lady that she cann ot attend, however she sends you this letter and this gift."

Leith sets down the package and hands the letter over. With another bow he retreats, grabs an ale and a sweet.

The letter

Dear Arthur,
Many felicitations to you on this day of your birth. We wish you many more and the grandest of celebrations this one. We hope you like the gift and that somewhere in your home you can find place for it.

Myxti was home taking care of Sophia. Though Sophia was a servant, she was like a mother to her and Myxti had to be there for her. So she sent a letter and presents with a servant to leave at the party for Arthur.

I am so sorry that I won't be able to make it for your birthday. But have great time. I have left 3 gifts:

1. A mini Tudor House for the kids and future Tudor babies to play in.
2. These glasses are so you can stop "seeing right through us." You know...it's kinda creepy at times!
3. Do I really need to explain Mead??? Enjoy it and if you get drunk as a skunk...please make sure someone is there to paint the portrait for us.

Slipping into the quaint Tavern, Lana notices that there aren't many people here yet. Being careful not to drop her small tray of goodies she'd made that morning in her bakery, Lana places it next to the rest of the gorgeous looking food already there.



Ordering a quick mug of cider to quench her thirst, Lana milled around wondering when everyone else would show up.

Liza arrives at the tavern and looks around for the guest of honor. Not seeing him, she makes her way to the table where the food had been laid out. She smiles to see someone else had the same idea and places her plate of cookies next to the tray of delicious-looking goodies, setting aside a wrapped box of English Toffee Bars without nuts to give to Arthur later.


Not used to actually being early for something, Liza hovers near the table, looking for a familiar face. She sees Lana and smiles, making her way over to her and grabbing an ale on the way.

Hi Lana, she greets her. It looks like we're the first ones here.

Arthur wanders into the tavern tired from working all day. He stretches just as he reaches inside; opening his eyes, he sees a room with his friends. He is definitely shocked.

Wow.. what's everyone doing here?!

Liza sees Arthur arrive. She gives him a warm hug and a peck on the cheek. Happy Birthday, Will, she tells him with a smile. And many more! I can't stay, I just stopped by to give you my best wishes. She frowns slightly. I left your presents at your flat the other day, did you get them? she asks, a bit concerned over leaving them in the hallway.

Lynna had made her way back to the tavern, just in time to see Arthur going through the door, she had spent all afternoon running errands and been held up getting back to the tavern, hoping to get there before he arrived.

She quickly made her way and entered seeing Lizabet greeting Arthur , she waited a moment and snuck up behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist leaning into his back she whispered in his ear Happy Birthday Love, she made her way around his side planting a kiss on his lips. I hope you didn't mind me asking a few friends come wish you a Happy birthday she grinned.

Her eyes turned to Lizabet, Good evening Lizabet glad you were able to drop by for Arthurs Birthday. She waved to Lana, thinking she must congratulate her after as well, but first things first. She reached inside her cape taking Arthurs gift out and placing it in his hands. I know I had already given you a couple of things this morning for your Birthday Love but I saved something for this evening she smiled, her eyes sparkling as she speaks.

Having noticed Liza turn up, Lana felt less out of place. It was nice to see an old familiar face like Liza's.
Lana greets Liza heartily and was about to comment on the quietness when the tavern door swung open and Arthur walked through. Seeing Liza spring over to him and wish him happy birthday, Lana quietly moved towards the pair awaiting the right moment to speak.
The door didn't close however, instead Lynna crept up and wrapped her arms round Arthur...letting them have a few moments together Lana suddenly started searching through her cloak sleeves and in her seams for the small gift she had gotten made for him.
Finally finding it she walked up to Arthur with a small tweak of a grin on her face.




Happy Birthday Arthur, I had this small gift made for you by a very talented friend of mine. A fine brooch to fit onto a fine cloak...i mean man. Trying to hide the laughter Lana instead grinned.

Come on everyone...Lets all grab a drink to celebrate!

He smiled as he saw everyone gathered, and was happy they had come to celebrate his birthday. Liz came up to him almost immediately. He had gotten her gifts at his apartment in Stafford capitol, but he thinks a nearby neighbor got to them first. There were a piece of cake missing..

Hey Liz! Yes, I got your gifts. Thank you. The cake was very tasty. A few people enjoyed the cake! Laughing slightly as he refrained from mentioning the semi-eaten dessert he had found outside his apartment in Stafford.

As he finished his sentence, he felt Lynna's arms around his waist. He dropped his arm to cover her hand and wrapped his other arm around her shoulder as she made her way around his side. He kissed her tenderly back and smiled. Thank you for my party! I thought I was meeting you here for a quiet dinner. He dropped his arm from her should to her waist and pulled her closer to him. He knew that Lynna and Liz didn't get along, but for his sake, on his birthday.. they were at least civil to each other.

He opened the gift from Lynna and was surprised! He had heard of this new gadget but hadn't seen one yet. He was amazed at the intricacy of the design. It was beautiful. Wow.. I love this! I was looking for one of these. Where did you find it?

Just as he was surveying his gift from Lynna, he heard another voice congratulate him on his birthday. He looked up and saw Lana. Hey! Aww, thanks for the gift. He handed his compass to Lynna to hold while he received Lana's brooch. It was sparkling with the jewels at the hilt of the sword. I love the color blue! He motioned to the bartender for a round of drinks. A drink for everyone!

She waited smiling while he unwrapped her gift and watched as he admired it's contents she would have to show him later what it does she thought. I picked it up last time I was in the Capitol Love and knew it would be just perfect for you on your birthday and used well for our trip, I can't have you leading us blindly we could end up anywhere she giggled, and kissed his cheek again playfully happy he loved it.

As Lana approached Lynna gave her a warm smile as she offered Arthur a gift, taking the compass as Arthur passed it to her to hold while he opened Lana's gift. She peeked over his hands as he opened it showing a beautiful brooch.

Listening as Arthur described the brooch and gave his thanks she said
Oh it's beautiful Lana as she admired it You have a very talented friend there indeed. Oh and Lana congratulations are in order for you as well I believe, I had heard of the elections in Lichfield have ended Lady Mayoress she grinned. Yes let's grab that drink ! We have plenty of food, and plenty to celebrate.

She took Arthurs hand and headed to the bar with him to collect a drink. The young Lady was still here from earlier and had let them know that some gifts had been delivered. Happy Birthday to you Lord Loxley the young lass said We have put aside some gifts for you that arrived by messenger earlier today.

After she had spoken Lynna leaned over the bar a little and lowered her voice, My dear if the musicians and entertainment you had organised are about by all means start the celebration and bring out the cake when you are ready. She smiled and reached into her cape pocket pressing another few coins in her hand, I have really appreciated your help on such short notice to help me with the surprise.

Upon giving Arthur his gift Lana was glad to see he liked it...it really was tough to decide what to give to a man who seemingly already had everything he needed!
Quietly giggling at her own ramblings Lana almost didnt hear Lynna congratulating her...

Oh...thank you Lynna, I was actually worried I would not make it back in time from that Escort duty I just finished in Cumberland. So it was definately good to win i guess. Although now that I have such a position I am worried i will not live up to expectations...Its a lot of work!I'm not sure how you managed to keep Coventry in check when you were Mayoress for that time Lynna...any helpful suggestions?

Walking over to the bar with the three of them Lana grabbed an ale, raising her glass she toasted "Happy birthday Arthur!"
